Lying in the north west, the valley of the upper Tees leads up through Middleton in Teesdale, taking in High Force and Cauldron Snout Waterfalls. The Tees Railway Path leads walkers and cyclists alike through the stunning countryside and such picturesque villages as Middleton, Lonton, Mickleton, Romaldkirk, Cotherstone and Lartington.
