With fantastic views across an area of outstanding natural beauty, our adults only, all weather CL site has 5 large hardstanding flat pitches which are suitable for a caravan or motorhome, an awning and a vehicle.
Nestled within the heart of Teesdale, in the small village of Mickleton we are just 5 miles from Barnard Castle, 3 miles from Middleton In Teesdale and a short drive from High Force Waterfall, Hamsterley Forest and many other local attractions.
Each pitch has its own grass verge ideal for relaxing and eating outdoors, individual drinking water tap and electricity hook up points (10amps). CDP and waste water disposal is located at the entrance to the site along with large refuse and recycling facilities. The dedicated shower and toilet is open and has been built to an excellent standard, is centrally heated and has security by an entry code.
Well behaved dogs are welcome to join you for your stay, with lots of local walks.
If you would like to take time to meet up with friends who do not have a caravan, why not book our micro barn for a short stay. Please see our accommodation page for further details.
Our CL site is open all year round and only open to members of the Caravan & Motorhome Club. With a 5 van limit we are a small, exclusive site and therefore do get booked up quickly for the most popular weekends/weeks over the year.
We strongly advise booking ahead of your required stay, although same day bookings are accepted, please telephone ahead as during peak seasons we are generally fully booked.
Our current tariff is £30 a night. Nightly price includes 2 adults, electric hook up, 1 vehicle and awning. A deposit of £30 is required per booking. To reserve a pitch on our site please use our online booking form below.
Situated just off the Tees Railway Walk, you can walk straight from your pitch without the need to drive to a number of other local villages and natural attractions. A gentle 3 mile walk east along the Tees Railway Walk is Romaldkirk and 3 miles west is Middleton In Teesdale with a local Co-Op and a number of small shops. For those looking for a longer day walk, an 8 mile scenic riverside walk along the banks of the River Tees, pacing the local villages of Cotherstone, Romaldkirk and Lartington takes you to Barnard Castle.
The Pennine Way is a short drive away from the site and is within easy reach to walk shorter stretches of it including Bowes to Middleton In Teesdale and Langdon Beck to High Cup Nick.
The typical magnificent Pennine geology and landforms is visible in many locations locally, but the uniqueness of the igneous intrusions of the Whin Sill quartz dolerite millions of years ago, has added an additional range of spectacular and breath-taking landforms. These include the dramatic landforms of Cronkley Scar, Falcon Clints and Holwick Castles, as well as magnificent waterfalls such as Cauldron Snout – England’s longest cascade, High Force – England’s largest waterfall, and Low Force, also known as Salmon Leap. Surrounded by natural beauty, you are also within a short drive from Grassholme, Selset and Blackton Reservoir, Hamsterley Forest, Eggleston Abbey and the market town of Barnard Castle with the beautiful Bowes Museum. Whilst the equally grand Raby Castle and it’s tearoom and gardens is just 10 minute drive. To see more go to: https://www.thisisdurham.com/explore-durham/durham-dales
Further a field but within an easy hours drive is Beamish, Newcastle and its many attractions, Killhope Wheel and Penrith on the edge of the Lake District.
